Automatic conformity of video clips in Blender VSE.

I love using Blender's VSE for editing video. Trouble is, you can't just add random clips of different framerates and sizes in there, so you have to redo them manually to your project's specifications. Why is that? Programs like kdenlive and openshot do it, right? I am offering a free custom logo design to anyone who can make this functionality happen. If you think you can make it work, stake your claim.
